I honestly don't think I changed much, partly because I made a conscious effort to do so. But it's disappointing to see how people I used to know change. Who am I to kid, actually? Can I really believe people won't change the priority they put to different people over time?
I thought I will be happier here coz I'll be meeting my old friends but now I really wish to be back soon. Let's see how it goes.
Tired ofbeing others' spare tyre/2nd choice feeling this way while I'm trying to be so hopeful & enthu here

SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in Paris 2011

mood:

music: Sure I'll Be Fine - SECRET
Ok, so this was what I had been spazzing over the past few days I was deciding between this and the kpop concert in sg (15 jul) but I really wanted to see SHINee and SuJu than BB and 2NE1.. oh well here's how I came to the conclusion that this is not meant to be.
1. When the date was announced (10 June), I was like yes, I'm only flying back aft that so I can still go to Paris from London. Then I realised that teng will be coming over that day, so I can't leave.
2. Just checked the Eurostar prices, the best combi will be leaving early morning on 10june and coming back on last train on 11 june. At first I was intending to camp overnight at the station like a hobo and take the earliest train out the next day but alas the ticketing mechanism is smarter than I am. Ohwells. So overnight accomodation will need to be considered so the total cost of the trip will be def greater than if I attend the concert in sg.. provided I can get a tix :S
3. I was still pretty adamnant on going at this point, even when things are looking so bleak ald. So I thought, heck la, just buy the tix then if rly can't go I'm sure there'll be pple (fangirls haha xD) who are prob willing to buy it from me. Only to realise that the tix will go on sale at 10am on 26 Apr, the same time my BBT tutorial will start. Now, I always held to the principle of not skipping lectures/classes unless I am sick... so... dear god, do u foresee SM will hold one in London that's why u're stopping me?! ㅠ_ㅠ
4. I'm just hoping that the pple who do go will take fantastic fancams and upload on yt so the rest of us who don't get to go can share the joy as well... oh ya forgot the fact that I'll prob be v upset to see DBSK performing their past hits (think the latest MB perf) without the other 3 so it's best I don't go...
5.This is for people who want to know where to get the tix from: http://www.livenation.fr/event/214448/sm town-live-world-tour-in-paris-tickets
Good luck!

Travelling to Cardiff

music: In Pursuit OST
Travelling to Cardiff by myself was like a mini milestone in my life, and a tick on my to-do list. Don't laugh, but I've always dreamt of travelling alone in a faraway place. Except this time it was strictly for 'business', since the Pharmacy conference was held at the University of Cardiff. But I enjoyed the whole process - worrying about the transport to finding the correct lecture theatre while navigating through the beautiful wooden stairs and furnishings within the campus. And oh, did I mention how I was officially 1 hour late and the speaker has such a good sense of humour to give me a ferrero rocher when I was desperately looking for an empty seat to settle down? Epic, man.
During the conference I was looking around for Veronica, a friend's friend whom I knew was attending the conference as well. I later saw her during our lunch break, but I was too tired to socialise (seeing that she was with a big group of friends) especially after a whole week of musical production. So I decided to zip up and ventured outside. I found a nice bench in the campus park to continue reading my book (My Sister's Keeper) and absorbed in the cool crisp air, balding trees and church chimes. I felt at peace with myself at that moment, just like the times I was at St Paul's. It's been a long time since I've spent some me-time, and doing things for myself.
When I got back to the lecture theatre after the break, she finally found me and gestured for me to sit with her. I initially planned to just go through this alone but her warmness won me over. I really admire how well-received she was among her friends and her gratitude for everything they did for her. It made me pause and think about my own life.
On my way back to London, I managed to enjoy more of the scenery since there wasn't enough natural light for me to continue reading my book on the coach. I was glad to be able to travel to another part of UK, in fact anywhere outside London. For once I saw areas marked as 'Low Emission Zone' (my lungs were thanking me) and there were sheeps grazing on the grassfields just beside the highway. To be honest, I didn't know Cardiff was part of Wales until I saw all those strange-looking words that accompanied every road sign, building name and advertisements. It took me a while to realise that it's Welsh. I'd always thought Cardiff was just another city, say Manchester or Bristol in England. Being part of Wales just made it seem I travelled quite far, haha xD
I really ought to be starting on my 500-word book review, which is due in 7 hours time, excluding sleeping time. (not that I planned to, anyway) Living on my own gives me the freedom to choose my own lifestyle pattern, however screwed it is. I already feel myself slipping away from the model student that I've set out to be. There are just so many distractions, so many issues to have to deal with. I think it's overwhelming because such stuff are usually left to the parents. Oh well, I chose this path didn't I?
So I just keep moving along~

You know, when I was sending smses to the J1s whose handwritings were so bad that I have to get them to sms back their emails, I received 2 msgs that said: 'Sorry you got the wrong number' (I prob misinterpreted their phone numbers too) Like, how 巧 is that?! I have half the urge to ask them if they were dbsk fans coz it seemed to be taken from the lyrics of 'Wrong Number', my fav song from their MIROTIC album!~~
Anyway, of course I didn't, but it's nice to know that this happened on jj's bday. All the best, and hope they will still go strong for a long long time, just like Shinhwa, who will be celebrating their 11th anniversary this year as the longest surviving boyband in Korea :D
